Heat, light and repeated exposure to air can change a perfume oil over time. Careful storage is especially useful in a warm climate.
Choose a cool, shaded place
Keep bottles away from sunny windows, hot shelves and appliances. A drawer or closed cupboard in a stable room is usually more suitable than a decorative display in direct light.
Do not leave perfume oil in a vehicle
A parked vehicle can become much hotter than the surrounding air. Repeated heating and cooling is avoidable stress for the oil and may also affect the roller, cap or label.
Keep the cap secure
Close the bottle after every use and store it upright. This limits leaks, reduces unnecessary air exposure and protects the roller from collecting dust.
Avoid humid bathroom storage
A bathroom may be convenient, but repeated steam and temperature changes are not ideal. A dry bedroom cupboard or drawer is generally steadier.
Watch for meaningful changes
